I picked up a new-to-me lens for my Fuji X-T10 last night - the Fuji 56mm f/1.2.  This is the brightest and fastest lens I've ever owned.  I have wanted to play around with a bright, fast lens to give extreme separation of your subject from the background. In reading countless reviews and real-world experiences of this lens, it seems to be universally regarded as an excellent optical masterpiece.  I took it out for a few shots before work this morning and am liking what I see so far.  I can't wait to shoot with it in the coming days! I'm afraid this is going to cause me to get the Fuji 23mm f/1.4 so I have something a bit wider in a fast lens.

For this picture, shot at f/1.2, the focal plane is so narrow and the background melts away.  There's a lot of movement in the background areas of the bokeh, but it kinda adds a watercolor painterly effect that I'm digging. The sharpness and clarity with this lens and this camera's sensor is blowing me away.  I don't get that crispness from my Canon 7Dii.  This plant is considered a weed around here, but this early in the season, I'll take any kind of blooms and color I can find!!

This next photo is checking out the clarity with so much detail and busy things going on in the frame.  Again, the clarity and crispness of the in-focus items are great.  Look at the beginning of the path at the bottom of the photo and how it magically blends from outside the plane of focus into the focal plane.  And the dynamic range of this camera's sensor is impressive - dark tones with detail as well as details still available in the bright areas kissed by the sun that's sitting just to the right of the frame.  I love it!
