Today included a little roadtrip over to Sewanee by way of Huntsville.  Along the way, in Belvidere TN, is this great, old-timey mill and falls named Falls Mill.  It was a neat throwback to another time.  Today's photo features some of the waterfalls in the area.  I like that I was able to use a slower shutter speed to allow the falls to create that dreamy look.  Not bad at all for a handheld shot since I didn't have my tripod with me.  This daytrip was the first "real" test of the Sony RX10 (original version).  I picked one up at my local big box electronics store for over half off!  From today's picture and the featured posts coming in the next couple of days, I like this all-in-one camera.  It's a great travel camera that can deliver some impressive results, especially if you mind your highlights.  The sensor doesn't have the wide dynamic range of APS-C and full-frame sensors so you need to be sure not to clip the highlights.  RAW files from the camera can, however, really hold up well by bringing up the shadows - especially at lower ISOs.
